I saw my psychiatrist this morning and told him I would like to discontinue all of my medications. Yeah, that went over like a turd in a punchbowl.

- I'm turning 31 next week but somedays I feel like I'm 14, other days it seems like I'm 80. I'm married to Chris, and have two wonderfull girls. Emma is 8, and Anne is 3. I have that same wish — to be medication-free. But I know it is not going to happen any time soon for either you or me.
Stay safe, stay away from YouTube and WebMD, and stay on your meds!

I know all too well how going off your meds can do. I just finished a five week stint in a psych unit for going off one of my meds. I know that I will probably never be medication free. It would be my dream though to never have them! Thinking of you!

Thanks for your comment on my blog. I would love to read the book, I will get at that sometime soon. I'm reading secrete daughter right now. Hope stuff works out with your medication. Going off your meds is not a good idea it can cause problems, if your going to do it do it with doctor and slowly.
I have been taking meds for a long, long time. There were times where I just stopped taking them which would last about 6 months and then I would have a really severe bout of depression and go back on. Earlier this summer I had the worst one yet. I went to a new psychiatrist to start some medication and have seen a dramatic improvement. After having that depressive episode in June, I will NEVER stop taking meds again. It was so bad I don't think I could go through that again. I have accepted the fact that my body needs these meds. Maybe I'll have to take them the rest of my life, and maybe not. I stopped having that bias that meds make me weak. I am so thankful for these meds I'm taking and never want to go back to where I was.
Maybe a med change is in order?
