I think refeeding belly is most definitely to blame, that has been a scourge to my confidence too. Remember: if they though you were "fat," they would just take you as overweight and not ask if you were pregnant, right?
Story to make you feel better: When I was a kid, my favorite uncle lived on a ranch, and usually had pregnant cows hanging around. I asked my mom why they were so round, and she said "because they have baby cows inside them." A while later, we saw an overweight (not pregnant) woman at a grocery store, and, according to my mother, I made sure to announce at the top of my voice: "That lady has a baby cow inside her!" Ok, I don't know if that story will help or not, just Exhibit A that people say dumb shit!
I totally do not think you are fat or pregnant! People can be so rude. I got asked if I was pregnant by one of my mentally confused pts. He was really serious about it too. I wrote about it in my blog somewhere... But seriously, just tell him to shove it. Because you're beautiful.
If you looked fat, they never would have asked if you were pregnant because they'd be afraid they'd be wrong and, therefore, insulting. Does that make sense? Therefore it was surely some combination of re-feeding + clothing + your're the getting-pregnant age (which is young) + the person who said it just had some blurry eyes and a broken brain. I've seen pictures of you. YOU ARE NOT FAT IN THE SLIGHTEST. Think of it as a test from the universe to see if you can stay healthy even when thrown some pretty fast ball/curve ball questions....
Thanks, guys. I am feeling a bit better. I totally get that if I was fat they would have just thought I was fat, not pregnant. And I think part of it was the shirt- it was one of those where the waist is right under the bustline, and then it just flows out from there. So maybe that was it.
I'm turning 31 next week but somedays I feel like I'm 14, other days it seems like I'm 80. I'm married to Chris, and have two wonderfull girls. Emma is 8, and Anne is 3. I have been fighting anorexia and bulimia for 19 years. I also struggle with treatment-resistant depression.
Each day is a fight, to make it through the day, to be a good mom and wife, to love myself. This blog makes it a little easier
