moving on out

well I will probably not be on here until at least friday cause tomorrow I start packing seriously and moving on friday. My landlords have given us this INSANE list of what all we have to clean and how exactly they want everything cleaned. Has anyone else ever had to remove part of the exhaust fan above the stove and soak it in soapy water as part of their move out cleaning? And then there is my personal favorite- wiping each slat of the miniblinds with a wet washcloth. And we have miniblinds in every room! These people are so anal! All I have to say is I had better get my deposit back!
Well best wishes to you all. See you on the other side!

Good luck moving! I hate hate hate having to clean the apartment to get your deposit back - landlords are usually so anal. When I moved out of the BYU dorms, the RA literally came around with a white glove. It's madness!

Ug! I've totally been there. Parlow Inc. was our landlord. We scrubbed EVERYTHING!!! walls, floors, ceilings, stove, bathroom. Literally everywhere. It looked better than when we moved in. They had a price list if we didn't do something (i.e. the doorknobs were five dollars if they were not cleaned. Can you believe it?) They didn't refund our deposit and charged us an extra $600 to re-seed the backyard- which had NO grass when we moved in. Lame.

Here's to wishing that this week goes by quickly and you're in your new place, settling in before you know it.

Thinking of you!

p.s.: the word verification that I have to type to submit this comment is "cursing" haha

Good Luck! YOu should talk to STacy P. They had them for landlords and ended up in court.. or close to it. Good Luck!

Just wanted to check in and say hi!

I'm sure it' stressful with the kids and the unpacking and the lack of routine and all...

It'll end soon and there's no rush. Just one thing at a time.

I'm thinking about you!
